Mediation
Butler, Sevier, Hinsley & Reid, PLLC provides divorce and family law mediation services for matters in Arkansas, Tennessee, and Mississippi. Mediation gives parties an opportunity to address disputes with the assistance of a neutral mediator rather than having a judge decide every contested issue. Our attorneys include Tennessee Rule 31 Listed Family Mediators with experience addressing the legal and emotional challenges of family conflict.
Family mediation can address divorce settlements, child custody, parenting plans, visitation, child support, alimony, property division, and post-divorce disputes. The mediator facilitates discussion and negotiation while the parties evaluate possible resolutions. Mediation may help reduce conflict, manage legal expenses, and develop arrangements suited to the family's needs. Our attorneys also represent individual clients preparing for and participating in mediation, helping them organize financial information, evaluate settlement proposals, and understand proposed terms. When serving as a neutral mediator, our role is distinct from representing either party as legal counsel. We help clients understand the process and consider whether mediation is appropriate for their circumstances and the applicable court requirements.
