Gail R. Sevier received her undergraduate degree from the University of Memphis in 1992 and her Juris Doctorate (J.D.) Degree from Mississippi College School of Law in 1996.  She is admitted to practice in all counties in Tennessee, the Tennessee Court of Appeals, Western Division, Tennessee Supreme Court, and U.S. District Court, Western District of Tennessee.

Ms. Sevier has more than 25 years of experience in Family Law matters, including the areas of divorce and post-divorce modifications, child support, parenting issues, relocation, establishment of paternity, name changes, dependency and neglect, termination of parental rights and adoption matters.

Ms Sevier has earned a BV* rating by Martindale-Hubble for her ethical standards and legal ability.  Ms. Sevier’s rating indicates an exemplary reputation and well-established practice, and reflects her peers rating her legal ability and ethical standards as “high to very high”.

Ms. Sevier is a member of the Memphis Bar Association and Family Law Section of the Bar. In 2004, she was selected by her peers to serve as a participant in the Memphis Bar Association’s Leadership Forum, and was Membership Chair of the Memphis Bar Association in 2006.  She also served on the Board of Directors of the Young Lawyer Division of the Memphis Bar Association from 2000-2002, and was Senior Editor of the Young Lawyers Newsletter from 2001-2002. 

Ms. Sevier has served as a lecturer for the National Business Institute on several topics of Tennessee law, including:

She has also served as a lecturer for the Memphis Bar Association on the topic of Permanent Parenting Plan Orders in Tennessee.
